Submission Requirements

To help you understand the RLI renewal process, please review the following information.

 Direct Bill

 Renewals for the RLI Personal Umbrella are direct bill.  The insured will receive a renewal application directly from RLI with instructions on how to complete it.  RLI pre-fills the “On File” column for questions 1-10 and 20.  The insured needs to make any corrections to this pre-filled information.  The insured also needs to answer questions 11-18, review 19 and sign page 2.

 All questions must be answered.  “N/A”, “No Drivers”, etc. are not acceptable answers.

 We will not automatically send renewal quotations or invoices to your agency.  Upon receipt and approval, RLI will bill the insured directly.  When payment is received, the policy will be issued and mailed directly to the insured.  Our office will send a copy to you.  Your commission will be sent after we receive payment from RLI.

 Timeline 

«         90 days prior to renewal, RLI mails a renewal application directly to the insured.

«         The renewal application must be returned to RLI within 30 days.

«         RLI reviews the renewal application.  If the application is approved, a renewal offer will be sent directly to the insured.  Unacceptable applications will be sent a nonrenewal notice, which includes the reason.

«         Incomplete applications will be returned to the insured along with a written notice of nonrenewal.  RLI will highlight the problem areas on the application.
